Single Port Laparoscopic Surgery and Transanal Specimen Retrieval for Sigmoid Colon Cancer
نویسندگان
چکیده
Transumbilical single-port laparoscopic surgery (SPLS) is a newly emerged and rapidly evolving, minimally invasive treatment method. Transumbilical SPLS produces minimal parietal injury and can achieve cosmetic advantages by reducing additional trocar placement. The in-line or chopstick arrangement of laparoscopic instruments can make the operative procedures somewhat strange and inconvenient at first, but experienced laparoscopic surgeons can achieve the same coverage as conventional laparoscopic surgery with time. Here, we report the first case of transumbilical SPLS anterior resection (SPLS-AR) with transanal retrieval of aspecimen and intracorporeal single stapling anastomosis. The operating time was 270 min. There were no intraoperative or postoperative complications. Transumbilical SPLS resulted in a 1.5-cm wound with early recovery. Transumbilical SPLS-AR with transanal retrieval and intracorporeal anastomosis for sigmoid colon cancer is feasible by experienced laparoscopic colorectal surgeons based on careful evaluation and selection of patients. This operation fulfills both oncological principles and cosmetic demand. (J Korean Surg Soc 2011;80:77-83)

A novel single-port laparoscopic operation for colorectal cancer with transanal specimen extraction: a comparative study
BACKGROUND Extension of a single incision for the purpose of specimen extraction in single-port laparoscopic surgery (SPLS) can undermine the merits of SPLS, either by hurting cosmesis or by increasing wound morbidity. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the clinical outcomes of patients undergoing SPLS sigmoidectomy, either with transanal specimen extraction (TASE, n = 15) or transumbilical ...

Background. Laparoscopy or its combination with endoscopy is the next step for "difficult" polyps. The purpose of the paper was to review the outcomes of the laparoscopic approach to the management of "difficult" colorectal polyps. Materials and methods. From 2006 to 2016, 58 patients who underwent laparoscopic treatment for "difficult" polyps that could not be treated by endoscopy at the Natio...

HYPOTHESIS Single-port laparoscopic rectal surgery can be performed using the principles of oncologic surgery in institutes experienced in laparoscopy with the advantages of minimally invasive surgery. DESIGN Sphincter-saving mesorectal excision in 4 human cases via a single laparoscopic port. SETTINGS A university hospital and a private hospital. PATIENTS A series of 4 patients who under...
متن کاملTransanal single-port surgery for the resection of large polyps.
INTRODUCTION Transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM) is widely used for the excision of both benign and malignant rectal tumours. It is relatively expensive and can be a challenging technique. A recent development in laparoscopic surgery is the single-port technique (single-incision laparoscopic surgery, SILS). The SILS port is a flexible multichannel port for transumbilical laparoscopic surger...
متن کاملNo-scar transanal total mesorectal excision: the last step to pure NOTES for colorectal surgery.
HYPOTHESIS Because of the concerns over the operative platform, accidental organ injury, and viscerotomy closure, natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES) currently remains an experimental technique. Transanal NOTES for colorectal surgery overcomes all of these issues; however, all of the reports to date have used hybrid laparoscopic techniques. We demonstrate herein the first ca...
